JW.ORG has jehovahs backing
by antes8080 inbeen hearing this from various people from the cong that jw.org is a clear sign that god is directing the org.. i have various friends in the it dept not only in brooklyn but mexico and colombia, just a fact there is 5 to 6 it dept all over the world that give support to jworgie 24/7... so i have ask them how they came up with the website wich is not the best but not the worst by far.
all four of them told me the same story, there is a brother in florida that is profesor of some kind computer class and as project he made them work on the website so students of these college helped launch this site.. so more like jah backing it has more like satan backing...

Separation of Powers
If that is the case, then the JW God is pretty slow at embracing the wave of technology and current trends. The God I worship is not short of cash and considerably more innovative. He created everything right? -

Separation of Powers
Repentance means sincere regret or remorse, deep sorrow, compunction, to turn from sin....many of these things are not easily discerned, so, the ORG has made "repentance" into an act, an act not unlike being a JW itself. One must become patternistic, follow a program of repentance..."works that befit repentance" is what they like to call it. Everything involves works....there is no grace, oh wait, undeserved kindness. You must follow the program, meetings, underline your magazine, look dejected...all the same works that God is looking for. LOL

I quit the Theocratic Ministry School
by My Name is of No Consequence inafter almost 24 years in the school and doing it since i was nine years old, i officially resigned.
it has become increasingly difficult to prepare talks, especially with the new format for brothers.
i did not mind doing them; i actually put the time and effort into getting them out.

Not Seating at the Same Place in All Meetings.
by Tempest in a Teacup ini haven't heard this one in a while but it has been on my mind lately.
maybe it's because i'm noticing that these days people at the kh are going the extra mile to vary their seating places in all meetings.. having skipped meetings for a few weeks, i'm wondering if there has been a talk/article about that recently.
that's one of the most laughable rules they made and i never felt bound by it.

I like where I sit...it is close to the door for an easy, unobstructed escape, it is a metaphor for my fade.... -

Excited about the CO visit
by StarTrekAngel induring the many years of being a jw, i could never really bring myself to be exited about the co's visit.
this has been an issue that always kept me wondering back to religions.
why could not feel the same happiness that made everyone around me cry during the sunday service?

Separation of Powers
1: I am not frightened (so I guess I dont need that one)
2: The scene may be changing but the talk is the same (so I dont need that one)
3: The only way I would attend the third one on survival is if Bear Grylls was giving the talk, otherwise (I dont need that one either)

Freudian slip in this weeks WT study!
by stuckinarut2 inoh....ok....hahaha...did anyone else pick up on this classic stuff up in the wt for the weekend of 21/22 feb?.
after speaking about the destruction of sodom and gomorrah, paragraph 6 says:.
"only lot and his daughters, who stuck close to him, survived".
-
Separation of Powers
One of the sickest bible stories ever......absolutely gross....you can try to justify it by saying the daughters thought that everyone on earth was dead....but, that aint no excuse.... -

It's Over Johnny....The Demise of Jehovah's Witnesses
by ctrwtf ini think i've mentioned before that from time to time my commute on the bqe takes me past the old factory buildings and the soon to be former headquarters building.
i was struck the other day with how shabby they've become.
even 25 columbia heights, still currently occupied, its facade is filthy.

Separation of Powers
No reason to keep the property up....they have other fish to fry and buildings to build....the current properties in Brooklyn are only valuable due to their location. NO ONE.......Absolutely NO ONE will buy the property to publish magazines....they will update the facade and tear out the interiors to make nice, plush, expensive condos with the priceless views of Manhattan skyline.... -

Living in the era of "Generation Me"
by campaign of hate inthis really got to me today at the wt study.. i am not ashamed to admit, i am part of that "generation".. you get one role of the dice in this life, you got to take what you can now, in order to have a good quality life later.. i agree, we need to help and show love to our fellow man.
but, not when this becomes the priority above our own needs, wants and aspirations.. welcome to "generation me" wt, this is my time.. peace out..

Separation of Powers
This article could have easily been written in the 60's. It has every 1975 line that I read way back when, including the ME generation.....Tell me, what generation in modern day society did not think of themselves first.... -

Ayn Rand - Opinions?
by cappytan infor those of you familiar with ayn rand and her ideas on morality, rationality and reason, what is your opinion of those ideas?.
i'm talking about her actual ideas, not the ideals that libertarianism has adopted and, in some cases, perverted.
do you think she's a charlatan?

Separation of Powers
When Nietzche got out of the shower, his mirror was fogged over...when he wiped it clean of every vestige of moisture, he saw Ayn Rand staring back at him. Their philosophies are so much the same, one muted over by convention, the other a blatant attempt at self-promotion
